Step 1: Tell Somebody

Getting started in your faith is a big deal! To help you along the way, one of the best things you can do is tell somebody about your decision. You can do this by clicking here. Alternatively, you could say hello at our Connect banner at a Sunday Service!

Step 2: Grab a Bible!

One of the best ways to grow in your faith is to grab a Bible and start reading! If you would like a hard copy version of the Bible, you can come and say hello at our Connect Kiosk on a Sunday morning and our team will give you one for free! We also recommend downloading the YouVersion Bible App on your phone or tablet, it's a great resource to access the Bible and supplementary learning material from wherever you are.

Once you have a Bible, we recommend starting with the Book of Mark.

Step 3: Get Resourced

Not sure where to start in learning about your new faith? We've put together a short course that covers some of the basics of Christianity to help get you started! Ever asked questions like "Who is God?", "Who is Jesus?" or "What is the Church?", if so you can take our "Starting Strong" course designed to give you a strong foundation in following Jesus and everything that He has for you! You can enrol for free, learn at your own pace, use some of the extra resources provided and ask any questions by sending an email to info@hillschurch.com.au.

You can access the course here. It's as simple as signing up with your name and e-mail!

Step 4: Get Connected

Getting connected to a community of faith who want to see you grow and encourage you on your journey is so important! At Hills, you'll find a warm and inviting church, who are more than happy to help you develop in and understand your decision to follow Jesus. The best thing you can do is get to Church on a Sunday morning, get to know a few people and take it from there!

Step 5: Baptism

Baptism is an exciting next step for anybody who has decided to follow Jesus! Whilst there is no pre-requisite for baptism (other than a faith in Christ), we encourage everybody considering baptism to either take our "Starting Strong" course (we have a short, six-minute video outlining some of the how's and why's of baptism or speak to a member on our team! You can find out more about baptism by clicking here.

Step 6: Join a Life Group

As we've said above, being connected is so important! So we would encourage everybody to join a Life Group. These are small groups of people who meet fortnightly in homes across the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne to socialize, ask questions and discuss their faith as well as pray with and support each other. You can register your interest in joining a Life Group by clicking here.
